Grants

   The Jack E. & Greta W. Stalsby Charitable Foundation was founded and funded in January 2006 to accomplish the goals and objectives of “giving back” and “provide others a chance” to grow and succeed in life through education.

   In the Foundation By-Laws certain Grants were established to accomplish these objectives.  The Grants were named and the Amount was established to follow certain guidelines.  The order of awarding the Grants was also established.  They are listed below.

   Within the limits of the aforementioned guidelines the Foundation is limited in the funds that can be awarded.  Hopefully as the income and growth of the Foundation occurs additional Grants can be awarded following the guidelines specified in the By-Laws and regulated by the Tax Laws of the United States.  The original order of Grants is as follows:

 

Hope Cottage
 

 

Hope Cottage Pregnancy & Adoption Center - Dallas, Texas

Hope Cottage is an orphanage where Greta was found by her parents William Vernon & Ona Chick Wright.

  $ 5,000 Annually

 


University of Houston -
Houston, Texas

Basketball Grant for one (1) athlete who must meet certain Grade Point Averages and display leadership traits. 

Reviewable each year for four (4) years

  $20,000 Annually

 

University of Houston - Houston, Texas

C. T. Bauer School of Business for two (2) students @ $20,000 each who must meet certain Grade Point Averages and display leadership traits.

Reviewable each year for four (4) years

  $40,000 Annually(2)

Hillsdale College  


Hillsdale College - Hillsdale, Michigan

For one (1) Liberal Arts Student who must meet certain Grade Point Averages and display leadership traits.

Reviewable each year for four (4) years


  $25,000 Annually

Additional Grants limited to Foundation growth and earnings increase within the limits of the U. S. Internal Revenue Service.

Discretionary Grants

Limited to certain 501C(3) qualified organizations to help the Foundation award the annual contributable limit according to The Internal Revenue Service.

Requests for additional Grants are not being entertained at this time because of the limit of contributable funds available to the Foundation.
